learning something new!

I love my free ebooks from amazon.  I check the list several times each day because it updates hourly.  but yeah, yesterday I learned something new...  the links to the side also show free ebooks by category.  I had always ignored them thinking it'd take me away from my beloved freebies.  I was so wrong!  so, so wrong!  let me tell you, it's awesome having so many options for free books!  yes, I'm a reading junkie and no, I'm not ashamed.  show of hands, how many people were also in the dark on this?  come now, I can't be alone...  oh well, okay then.

in case the link isn't obvious in the blog post, it's the word "freebies" in the middle.

cravings

I've said it before but in case you're just jumping into my insanity right this moment, I'm pregnant.  yep.  like 21 weeks pregnant which means I am in the stage of pregnancy where I can EAT!  oh food how I missed thee.  but this also means cravings.  not really weird ones, I've never gotten those thankfully because I'm not sure I could live with myself if I did.  my main cravings this pregnancy have been laffy taffy and dairy products.  give me cheese, cottage cheese, chocolate, ice cream, whatever so long as it's dairy.  also cheese and tomato which just so happens to be what is on a pizza.  spaghetti too.  yeah.  this has been a fun pregnancy food wise.  can you just see me ballooning up as I type?  okay, since most of you have no clue what I really look like, think of anyone getting pregnant and then living off of a 85% dairy diet.  it's not pretty I tell you.  only 21 weeks and I am for lack of a better word, HUGE!

yeah, so if you've ever been pregnant, did you get any cravings?

where have I been....

yeah, so I let this blog fall to the wayside in a big way.  funny thing is that I thought about it just about daily but with all the stress of my normal day to day life plus the added stress of growing another human being it has been rather hard to want to do this.  I've been rather focused on my GPT sites as well because well, we need money.  so that's where I've been.  just busy earning money on various GPT sites so that we can afford a decent if modest holiday for the minions as well as pay some bills and get the needed gear for a new baby.  oh speaking of baby, I'm 20 weeks now and will find out the gender in a few days so long as the bean cooperates when I have the sonogram.

so since I've been so into my sites lately, allow me to share about the one that I've been most focused on.  it's called instaGC and it's just like it says, instant gift cards!  you complete offers , watch videos and the like and when you're ready to cash out, you get the code for your gift card instantly!  how cool is that?   they have so many choices too!  from amazon to walmart and starbucks as well as several game related options.  I have only cashed out for amazon or walmart because those fill needs I have but the choice of what of you get is all yours!  check it out, complete offers and get the card of your choice!  they have weekly and monthly offer and referral contests.  I actually got second in the offer contest a couple weeks ago.  it was so exciting!

the picture up above shows cashouts for the month.  and the one to the side here is from me winning second place in the offer contest.  yes, I won 1,000 points which is equal to $10.00!  yes, I got an extra $10 just because I was blessed enough to have completed that many offers in one week.  so what are you waiting on?  come join me and see how quickly you can get to earning your free gift cards.

International talk like a Pirate day!

ah, it's International Talk like a Pirate day again!  yes, that annoyingly fun day where people make them sound even sillier than normal by trying to talk like a pirate even though let's be honest, we don't really know what a Pirate would have sounded like!  all we have to go on is what was shown to us first in B movies.

apparently in honor of that day, Swagbucks has decided to do a Swag Code Hunt! there's a map in the blog to help you find your codes.  ALSO they have made it Mega Swag Booty Day too!  that means it's MEGA wins!  I got an 11 early this morning and I saw lots of megas being won too!  so today is the best kind of day to be active with Swagbucks!  the first code is already out so get your hunting pants on and check that map!

weather

ah, I feel it.  I do!  it's slightly cooler weather.  I'm so happy.  instead of face of the sun hot it's bearable.  plus we have this rocking breeze happening.  I think it's gonna rain right now too but that is okay.

I can't wait to be able to open up the windows and leave them open all day.  living in Florida that time seems so fleeting, so quick to disappear.  the summer just drags on and on and on.  I know that this "cooler" weather is probably just a fluke and we'll return to the sun for a while before fall finally makes an appearance for real.  but I am gonna enjoy it for now.

constant motion

sometimes life gets into such a pattern that it's hard stop it.  it's hard to stop and even catch a breath.  that's what my life has been like the last few months.  between flooding, a new pregnancy, my husband having an emergency surgery, starting a new year of schooling and a wicked case of insomnia I have lost a lot of things I intended to do.  this blog obviously fell to the side.  I thought about it daily but did nothing to try to make it happen.  so here I am.  I'm trying again.  I'm mapping out my mind which happens to be really uncharted and kinda scary territory.  I will make this happen!  I will get this going and keep it going and I WILL get followers who care when I drop off the face of the earth for a couple days let alone weeks.  not that my current ones don't but most of them know me personally on Facebook so they know I'm alive but busy.

so come on and get ready.  I'm gonna blow my own mind in the next month.  well that's the plan!

August 7, 2012

uh... oops

I haven't posted in a week.  I feel like such a failure with this thing.  I try.  I have great intentions but lack the follow through and frankly it's not real easy with four children and being first trimester pregnant.  in general I lie to myself and say I'll do it when the kids go to bed but then once they're in bed I am so tired that I just go to bed.  but here's the plan...  next week I start the new school year.  not that we ever really stop our schooling but I'm revamping how we do it.  so I plan on making time for me to blog part of the school day.  I think I can swing this.  pretty sure I can.  guess we'll just have to wait and see...

GPT funny

so GiftHulk posted this picture earlier today on facebook.  I thought it was pretty awesome and wanted to share it!

This sums up being a GPT aka Reward Site user pretty well.  if you're not using a GPT, why on earth not?  it's money just from doing things you do anyway.  why not try out GiftHulk?  it's pretty easy and has a cool treasure box.  I like the treasure box.  the treasure box was actually enough to convince my hubby to join too.  yes, he's easily amused.

Happy National Lasagna Day!

oh yeah!  now this is a day I can get behind!  I love love love lasagna.  well, pretty much anything Italian really.

this is a pic of my three oldest helping hubby make lasagna on Thanksgiving a couple years ago.

my favorite lasagna recipe is made in the crock pot though.  it's not a recipe so much as I just kinda throw it all in there and viola!  in just a few hours I have lasagna!  so easy.  you can google a recipe of course or I'm sure there are tons on pinterest if that's your cup of tea.  the way I make it though, there's no precooking of the noodles.  be still my heart!  easy easy!  so, get to it!  make yourself some lasagna!!!!

coke reward bonus codes!

if you use my coke rewards then you need these codes!  they're worth 10 points each and can be used daily!  the codes reset each night.  FREE stuff is cool! I've gotten a bunch of free 12 packs of coke from there as well as a few magazine subscriptions.  it's worth it!

Plate filling fast

so there are just a few days left for the thing where we're seeking donations for my family.  we're raised $95 which is not bad all considering.  but as the time has ticked by the punches have continued to roll in...
---last week I found out I am pregnant with my fifth child.  a little reminder of Tropical Storm Debby as it were.
---this morning I woke to my husband in a terrible amount of pain.  he's had an umbilical hernia for a long time.  he had it repaired about three years ago but it quickly came back in a different location and has continued to grow to the point we found ourselves this morning.  his intestines had pushed though and were strangulated.  in case you're not familiar with something like this, it can cause death.  last I heard he was being prepped for surgery.  I cannot be there because of the children and lack of anyone to watch them while I go.
---due to him having to have surgery we're going to lose even more work aka finances.  the type of work he does has no "light duty" so it will be a while before he'll be able to fully return to work as an ASE certified tech (aka mechanic but the kind with papers saying he KNOWS what he's doing).

honestly I hate begging.  I really do but I've never been in a place like this.  I've never sat on the edge of losing everything.  that my friends is exactly where I sit right now and trust me when I say it is a terrifying place to be.

if you feel like helping I would be so grateful.  even if you just click the link and share it on your social network sites.  anything is a help!  anything.  and thank you....

Raindrop's World (a review)

Raindrop's World by Carl Pettit

Come on in!  This is Raindrop's World!  A world of leafcutter ants, dung beetles and a very old and wise tree frog.  You get to meet Raindrop and Pollen, both leafcutter ants in the rainforest.  There's also Little Clay the dung beetle who lives among the ants.  These three are going to climb the tallest tree in the rainforest to find the Guru who just happens to be a very old tree frog.  Of course as sometimes happens, they get sidelined by a few things so the plan has to change.  Little Clay presses on and does find the Guru and has an interesting talk with him that leads him away from the leafcutter ants on another adventure!

The book is split into three short stories that all blend together into one full story.  In each installment you meet new inhabitants of the rainforest.  It has heart, adventure, drama and lots of fun too!

My six year old son thought it was really great and the other children liked it as well.  We had lots of fun researching the amazon and rainforest creatures after reading it.  They are anxious to see more from these characters.  Personally I liked it too, especially Little Clay.

There's also a website for the book which is cute and a work in progress but worth a look!

a way to help

an awesome friend set this up for me and my family.  the storm may not have taken our house but  it took our way to make a living for now.  every day the water doesn't go down is another day we're falling into the hole financially.  any help, prayers and shares of the campaign are much appreciated!

June 27, 2012

under water

we had a tropical storm visit us.  her name was Debby.  she left the place an utter disaster area.  I haven't heard if it's been declared a state of disaster yet but it will be.  I am sitting in my house and I cannot leave.  I can drive about a mile before I have to turn back because all the roads are either under water or no longer there.  we had a couple eaten by sinkholes and a couple wash out.  at least we have our power!

here are some pictures of the area.  no, they're not ones I took but others did and posted them on facebook and the like.  this first picture was taken by my brother-in-law up the road from where we all live.

this was a bridge.

and this...  this is the road we take to the dump.  that bit of white you see sticking out of it is a full size truck.  that had to be one scary ride down!  the person is in all honesty most likely not from this area.  cause most of us knew that there was a sinkhole in that field not too far from the road so we were avoiding it because of the rain.  we're guessing this person was trying to find a way out.  a way anywhere.  sorry, there's no way out.  we're stranded.  we're stuck.  there's no telling when we'll be saved either.  it's so bad that the lady a few houses down called 911 because she needs to go to the hossy (she really does, she's soooo sick and frail) but was told "sorry, we can't make it out to you."  this statement irks me.  I live three houses down from her.  they could bring a chopper our here and land in my pasture.  there's a dairy farm that backs up her property but noooooo, they can't make it out here.  sure.

BUT on the bright side.  we have power!  we have food.  we have stored water!  we will survive!

one last pic...  my yard yesterday as taken from my back door.  yes, that's my seriously overgrown bantam house in the pic...  ignore that and focus on all that water!  yes, that's water...

YEAH BABY!

I got my computer back!  I got my computer back!  we were able to get a new power supply thanks to Calyp.  it was relatively cheap but when you live paycheck to paycheck, even $30 is a lot of money!  so anyways, I got it now.  it was actually my hubby who got it for me.  see, he signed up for Calyp too!  this was his first month getting paid and he wanted to do something for me since I am always the one doing for others.  I thought it was awfully sweet of him.

so anyway!  expect more postings from me in the coming week!  I am playing catch up right now.  nearly a month without a proper computer, my computer, was hard and I am so far behind on things now!

June 20, 2012

eclectic I am

so here's a total shocker...  I am eclectic!  I was trying to see if I could pin myself down to a type or genre in regards to what I read.  yeah, it's not possible.  I mean you can take a peek at my amazon reviews and see how off the wall different many of the titles are.  there's everything from horror to romance and Christian fiction to Jewish books.  there's no putting me into a box.  I just do not fit!  but I'm okay with that...  I was just trying cause I thought it'd make this easier on other people and myself but oh well...  I am what I am and that's all that I am :-)

Unyoked review

Christian Suspense

This was an enjoyable read. It weaves a striking tapestry of suspense, romance and college life with heavy threads of faith throughout. While it has many elements to it, I would say this is an all-out suspense that keeps you guessing til the final, shocking end. Nearly all of my initial thoughts as to who and what were wrong which was a delightful surprise as I am generally pretty good at figuring out the who or what rather early on in a story.

There's Megan, recently broken up with her long-time beau Keith. There's Tony, the guy who has fallen in love with her right as she was breaking up with Keith. There's Megan's roomie and Tony's brother in their own little relationship as well, adding to the elements of the story. Throw in a random ex, a dad in jail and a dying aunt and it gets downright sticky! You just gotta read this to see how it all works out for them! You won't want to put it down! I can't wait for the sequel that I hope is coming soon :-)

I did give this book four stars. In all honesty as it stands, it deserves perhaps 3 to 3.5. The story is awesome, it's the formatting of the book that is troublesome. there are odd page breaks and missing words. The number for chapter one is included in the dedication. Also there are several spots where there is clearly a word missing. Lastly the title page still bears the previous title of the book instead of the new one which I admit confused me at first. If you're able to overlook all of that then I highly recommend this book! Once this book gets a good revision done to it and a sequel I could see me revising this review to five stars.

disclaimer - I did get a free copy of this book to review but all thoughts are my own brand of caffeinated randomness :-)
you can get a copy right here for your very own!

reviewing books

since I have been without a regular PC, I have taken to reading an awful lot of my kindle books.  I read four yesterday.  yes, I just said four.  so since I am on a regular PC today I am trying to put out a few reviews for the books I have read.  I even joined a group on Facebook for people looking for reviews for their books.  of course most of them are indie authors and that is perfectly okay with me!  I have loads of books from indie authors lol.  so I just cranked out two reviews for books I read yesterday.  I have one more to do today.  the other I am waiting to hear back from the author before I review it.  I know I could review it without talking to them but since I will only be the second review I want to mention a few things to them before I review it and let them decide if they really want my review.  I just wanted to let people know I am here.  I am trying.  I will be back more often now.  I plan on hosting a giveaway soon to try to up my followers and things like that.  I messed up and was supposed to be part of a hop that started on the 1st but because of PC issues, losing my AC and dealing with my new sickness, I kinda dropped that ball.  I feel horrible even though I really only let myself down and caused the person in charge to have to delete my name from the list.  not a huge problem but still.  so there I am.  reading books, writing reviews and waiting on doctor's appointments.  yes, I do have an amazingly interesting life these days....
oh one more thing.  once I get better at writing reviews, expect more to show up on here too.  I could totally get into writing reviews!

caffeine, no computer & a swagbucks code extravaganza

see, when I get going...  you can blame that right there!  that's the chemical make-up of caffeine :-)

so, I am out a computer for a little while.  the extra one is in our bedroom so I can't spend too much time on it as I have many minions to tend to.  so I will be more scarce than normal sad to say.  but I will try to use my time to brainstorm and write things down (with a pen even!) so when I get my comp back to running right I am ready!  I think I may be able to convince hubby to let me in here some before he starts gaming at night too so there's always that!  but til then I will have a really clean house lol.

also today is a swagbucks code extravaganza!  so be on the lookout for them.

Just a little funny...

wait, I've told you that I have a major geeky side right?  well, now you know!
no, I'm not obsessed with star wars but I still found this amusing.

May 16, 2012

and the I has it!

I could be sooo many things but I figured I'd go for ink.  yes, ink. well, not exactly that kind of ink...  how about the kind of ink that is truly permanent?  yep, that would be the kind of ink I mean.  yes, tattoos.  I have a few of them.  yes, really.  I have one on my forearm.  it's big and purple and is the greenman.  well, yes, my greenman is purple...  you had a point?  moving on.  I also have a paint splat on my back with a symbol in the middle of it.  and then a line of poetry with some feet on my ankle.
so I guess then the big question that hangs in the air is...  why?  followed by things like, are you sorry?  did they hurt?  are you getting any more?
so quick answer to all of it is no.  I don't have a why anymore.  one was a graduation present.  one was a tribute to my mom who passed away and one was because I was bored (what, you've never been bored with a couple hundred bucks to burn and decided to go ink yourself?  sheltered people!).  I'm not sorry cause that's who I was and they're a part of me.  though I will be honest, I think I could have chosen a better spot for the greenman lol.  no, they did not hurt.  I have an incredibly high pain threshold.  don't believe me?  I gave birth to a 9lb baby while my children slept in the next room.  it was also in a duplex and the neighbors were never the wiser.  so, am I getting any more.  well, there's where it gets interesting.  I think I will always have the desire to get more ink deep inside.  I mean I had wanted a tatt since I was old enough to know what they were.  but now I stand in a place where I have decided for many reasons that my inking days are behind me.  I will never regret them because they are a part of my past and I fought hard to get to where I am now.  each one has a meaning to it and they remind me of things.  I have a horrible memory thanks to a car accident where I went headfirst into the windshield when I was 18.  no, I wasn't driving.  so, having the tatts reminds me of things and places and times.  they also prove that I am me and I am here.  they are a part of me.

May 14, 2012

a-Ha moment...

okay, so this may be a bit of a stretch for H but I don't care right now.  it's working for me and this won't get read much anyways.

I have come to the realization that I probably will never make it as a blogger.  I mean one of the ones that get to do reviews and actually get people to read what they're posting.  know why?  cause I lack the ability to be overly dramatic.  I can't make myself go *smoking hot coupon* or *super HOT deal* for things that are actually pretty ordinary.  there's one blogger I follow on FB that will post that they have a really hot freebie on their blog but it's so hot they can't say it on FB.  yeah, I've gotten that freebie as a Special Offer on Swagbucks and got PAID to get it and fyi, it's not a real great freebie but whatever floats their boat I guess.  saw another blogger post that they had *JUST* signed up for something (that's how they put it) and they'd already made money.  well upon scrolling the wall of said blogger, apparently they had also *JUST signed up the day before and probably the day before that too.  what's worse is that so many bloggers will promote companies that I know if they had actually TRIED to use the company (talking GPT sites here) they would know it's not actually worth it, especially to people who are not big bloggers.  it's misleading at best and at worst I won't even go there.  I use several sites that I know are decent for me but I don't think would be worth it to most people so I don't bother mentioning them or only give them a passing mention here and there with the warning that they're not the easiest or only good under certain circumstances.

so, I'm feeling kind of down right now.  I just don't see me being able to be that type of person.  not that they're bad people but it's just not me.

E F G is easy for me!

okay, so I have been my slacking self.  again, I will remind you that I've been sick!  so there :-p

anyways, here comes E, F and G which works out perfectly together if you're asking me.  since this happens to be my blog, I guess if you're reading this, you kinda are.

E is for Earning and Easy
F is for FREE
G is for Giftcards

yep, they make a nice little sentence and describe what it is I do while online most of the time.  I am easily earning free giftcards.  not all of what I get is in giftcard form though.  I do also get cash sent to paypal and there are a couple of sites I use that send the money to a card so in a sense it's a giftCARD right?

anyways, I use many sites as I have mentioned before (and as can be seen by browsing my sidebar).  right now my go-to sites are Swagbucks (my first love) where I earn about $50 - $75 a month at present, Calyp where this past month I made about $35 (I'd recommend this to anyone with a few minutes a day on their hands and a decent network -fb, twitter, linkedin), SuperPoints where I make maybe $10 a month, sure not the greatest but it's steady and with a few referrals could be pretty epic, Jingit is an easy $10 or more a week for watching commercials and lastly Share Magnet where I am making a few dollars every few days just by posting ads to my twitter and occasionally my FB account (this one works better with a larger following as it pays per click).  the only sites I have right now with active referrals is SuperPoints but I only have two and they're only quasiactive and I am still able to make over $100 a month between all my sites.

so, what is that I do with all these sites to get all this?  well, I do searches (swagbucks, irazoo, bing and gift hulk).  I watch videos (jingit, swagbucks, irazoo, gift hulk and superpoints).  I play games (swagbucks, irazoo).  I find codes (swagbucks, irazoo and gift hulk).  I post ads to my twitter account (calyp and share magnet).  I click a button (superpoints).  I check my email (superpoints).  I use coupons (swagbucks).  these things are all things I would do anyways, well, except the codes.  I'm even teaching my hubby how to use some of them since calyp, jingit, swagbucks and irazoo all allow you to have more than one account per household.  irazoo said you each need your own computer but the others haven't said it matters though hubby and I do have separate computers so we keep our stuff separate.  I never let him log into anything on my computer and I don't log into anything on his.  the only thing we share is my kindle fire.  I sometimes use it to log into swagbucks and I also let him use it to run the sbtv mobile app.

honestly, who couldn't use a little extra money each month?  you're online anyways, why not use a portion of that time to pay you?  how much is your internet bill?  yeah, you can most likely make that each month just by using a couple of these sites.  so, are you ready to join me in EASILY EARNING FREE GIFTCARDS yet?  why not?  what are waiting on?  it really doesn't cost you a thing to give it a try.  you only stand to gain from it!  so hop on over to the sites (links above are my referral links which I would greatly appreciate your using) and sign up and start making some money!  you know you want to <3

the pic right there shows when Swagbucks hit 1 million FB likes.  how is that for proof of it being legit and worth your time?  so stop thinking and get to it!

if you have any questions, no matter how small, feel free to ask.  I LOVE helping people with the sites and easily earning free giftcards.  even if you're not my referral, I will still give you all the help I possibly can, so ask me, I gotcha covered.

what a D - lite!

she's a maniac, a maniac on the floor!

okay, perhaps not in the same way they imply in the song but yeah...  I like to dance!  though I have to say I probably resemble Elaine from Seinfeld.

my favorite types of music to dance to are loud and fast.  I don't do well with slow but never really needed to worry about slow dancing either.  dancing is one of the reasons I like Fraggle Rock cause of the theme song.  "dance your cares away, worry's for another day so let the music play."

I was up dancing with my ten pound baby a little less than two weeks after an emergency c-section.  of course there was no jumping like I generally do but it was therapeutic.  he's 19 months old now and likes to dance with me.  of course his version of dancing is running around me in a circle laughing but it works cause his laugh is therapeutic.

so do you like to dance?

I C what you did there...

I feel bad.  I'm losing steam already but in all fairness to myself, I am sick!  I wake up with hot flashes then cold flashes.  my entire body just aches.  it's rough.  I didn't turn my computer on for well over an entire day!  that in itself is rare.  I do a normal weekly 26ish hour outage but to go beyond that is not in my range of normalcy.

so, the letter is C....  I have had many fleeting thoughts about what I could do for C.  like cartoons, the main staple on the telly in this house.  children, I do have four of them ya know.  classics, as in movies, books and the like.  yeah, I am not one too interested in most classics.  cult classics I am generally okay with though ^.~  so that's what I'll focus on cause it really does say a lot about me.
my husband laughs at me with my random movie knowledge and some of the movies I've seen and claim to like.  like the rocky horror picture show.   it's awesome.  yes, it's bad too but it has so much WIN to it!  then there's the evil dead movies (evil dead, evil dead 2 and army of darkness).  he groans every single time I mention them.  but they're good in a massively cheesy way.  don't make me get my boomstick out!  I seriously look at these movies as comedies rather than horror or whatever genre most video stores put them in.  how anyone could possibly take them seriously as a horror movie is beyond me.  then again, I guess I should mention that when I watched scream in the movie theater I laughed, a LOT!  scary movies just are not scary anymore.  they're too overdone or are only there for the gore factor.
I know this really doesn't have to do with cult classic movies but I am also known to quote movies, songs, commercials and television shows at random and make them fit in perfectly.  yes, even some really cheesy lines work for me when I do it right.  I am also a master of sarcasm.  words are like a playground to me.  I love to make plays on words, puns, be sarcastic (not in the meaner sense) and I also have an odd tendency to break down larger words in my mind to see how many other words I can create from it.  yeah, normal is not a word I think anyone would try to associate with me unless they put and ab on the front of it.  but that's okay with me.
so, I haven't watched any of the movies I mentioned here in years, I mean YEARS!  but I can still quote from them and I do go on youtube quite often so I can do the time warp again!
yes, I do actually dance to it.  I love dancing!  I may not be real good at it but I do it anyways.  I dance like nobody is watching!  so get up and groove with me....

B and B and B s'more

I thought I'd go a little different with this one.  with this one I will name off ten things I like that start with B.
  1. Babies (well, that was a given, no?)
  2. Banana Bread (try a new recipe almost every time I make it!)
  3. Blueberries
  4. Blogging (even if I am kinda forcing myself back into it - life has been nuts!)
  5. Baking (tis a shame I live in FL too since I can't bake for 2/3 of the year!)
  6. Ben and Jerry's ice cream!  (I shouldn't, wish I didn't but it's sooo good!)
  7. Bedtime!
  8. Books!  (I would love for my house to look like a library, a library with noise!)
  9. Buttered Bread (warm to be specific)
  10. Beauty (this is not what you're probably thinking as I find beauty in almost every thing!)

May 2, 2012

we start with A!

so, I thought to try to make the alphabetical posting be personal.  give you a look into me and my life.  so for A I am gonna talk about animals.  so original right?  well, I live on a non-working mini farm right now.  we used to have sheep.  katahdin sheep to be exact.  they were amazing.  we had one ram and six ewes.  all six of the ewes lambed the year we had them.  one had twins and the rest all had singletons.  it was so cool!  we had to help one of them deliver and that lamb ended up dying which was pretty sad but it's common.  we had to sell off the flock after a really bad year.  we knew we couldn't sustain the flock over the winter so we sold them at the beginning of fall in 2010.
growing up I always had pets of one kind or another.  dogs and cats were really common.  but I also had some others.  like a peach faced lovebird.  yes, just one.  I also had ferrets, hedgehogs, hamsters and guinea pigs.  oh and of course fish, but only bettas.
right now my pet family consists of a great dane and a cat, both boys and both live outside.  we also have four chicken hens and one turkey hen.  we'd like to get some more chickens but for now we're content with the ones we have (not that we get any eggs from them since they fly over the fence and lay eggs over in the woods next door).  at one point we have well over 100 various birds (chicken, duck, turkey and guinea).  but that too had to go in late 2010.  the ones we have now survived.
I hope one day to get back into farming, at least with poultry.  I'm not sure I'm ready to take on mammals again.  perhaps a cow or two for the vacant pasture out back but even then I don't know.  we've talked about taking on a second cat but we haven't decided for sure.  though I am pretty certain once the kittens are big enough that my sister-in-law has, one will come home.
so there's my first post.  I made it!  now to plan out one for tomorrow cause I totally winged this one!
